Project Description:

The applicant proposes an existing discharge of 2,700 gallons per day average of treated stormwater from an Oil/Water separator and 7,200 gallons per day average of treated creek infiltration water from a bag filter to surface water from the applicant's facility located at 44 Morris Ave, Glen Cove. The applicant plans to continue to operate an asphalt manufacturing facility.

The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a permit for a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under Article 17 of the Environmental Conservation Law. This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfy regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the Department at this time. As a tentative determination, the Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for, or endorsement of, the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project.

The discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer. Project Description:

The applicant proposes to subdivide an existing 6.5 acre lot into two lots of 24,606 sq. ft. and 5.9 acres each. Regulated tidal wetlands exist on the property. The purpose of the project is to create one 24, 606 sq. ft. lot for an existing residence which has been designated an historic landmark in order to allow the Town to preserve the maximum amount of open space on the second 5.9 acre lot. Project Description:

Dredge approximately 570,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand from an offshore borrow area and transport the material to the shoreline of Fire Island. The material will be used as nourishment to restore eroded dunes and beach areas along 8,580 feet of shoreline within the communities of Fire Island Summer Club, Corneille Estates, Ocean Beach, Seaview and Ocean Bay Park. Tapered dunes will be created several hundred feet to the west and east of the main nourishment areas. In addition, some severely eroded areas will be supplemented with more sand than the main areas. The dunes will then be stabilized with native vegetation and sand fencing.
