Shandaken Tunnel Outlet SPDES Permit General Meeting - August 26, 2008

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) hereby gives notice that a meeting will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Tuesday August 26, 2008, at the NYC DEP office located at 71 Smith Avenue in Kingston, NY.

The meeting is being held in accordance with State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Discharge Permit No. NY 026-8151, for the Shandaken Tunnel Outlet. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of several projects in the Catskill watershed region. Public input is welcome.

The meeting is open to the public.

Negative Declaration

Otsego County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Otsego RA #1 Stand B-1, Clearcut will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a 190 acre red pine stand which was planted in the 1930's and has reached maturity. Two sections totaling 71 acres will be clearcut. Where there is a sufficient number of native tree seedlings, the stand will be allowed to regenerate naturally. A section that doesn't have enough seedlings present will be replanted with conifer seedlings. The project is located on Otsego RA # 1, Stand B-1; approximately one and one-half miles south of Pleasant Brook, in the Town of Roseboom, New York.

Positive Declaration

Greene County - The Town of Cairo Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Alden Terrace Mixed-Use Retail/Residential Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted until August 14, 2008. Copies of the draft scoiping document are available during regular business hours from the contact person listed below. The action involves the applications for a site plan and subdivision review for Alden Terrace, a mixed use project including 89,660 ± square feet of retail space, 80 townhomes and 52 workforce housing units, parking and roadways on 30.22 acres. Connection to public water and sewer systems which necessitates district extensions is planned. The project is located on County Route 23B (Main Street), State Route 32 and M. Simons Road in the the Town of Cairo, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Rensselaer County - The Town of Schodack, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Crown Enterprises, Inc. Freight Transfer Facility. The action involves the construction of a freight transfer terminal on approximately 35 acres of land. The project will be known as Crown Enterprises, Inc. Schodack Freight Transfer Facility and will provide a state-of-the-art freight transfer facility in a planned environment. The project is located on the easterly side of NYS Route 9 just north of its interchange with Interstate I-90 at Exit 12 in the Town of Schodack, New York.
