Negative Declaration

Kings County (Brooklyn) - The City of New York Department of Parks and Recreation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Reconstruction of McCarren Pool and Bathhouse will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposal by New York City Department of Parks and Recreation to renovate and reuse the existing unused McCarren Play Center, a State/National Register-eligible historic resource and a New York City Landmark. The proposed project would return this community facility to public use for year-round activities. During the summer months the play center's swimming pool and diving pool would be returned to their original uses and during the winter months the swimming pool would be converted to an ice skating rink. The proposed project would also include a recreation center, a rooftop café, and a snack shop that would be operational year-round. The proposed project would also advance a PlaNYC initiative of improving McCarren Park, a regional park. The project is located on the eastern portion of McCarren Park bounded by Driggs Avenue, Manhattan Avenue, Leonard Street, Bayard Street and Lorimer Street in the Greenpoint Community of Brooklyn, New York.

Negative Declaration

Richmond County (Staten Island) - The New York City City Planning Commision, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 386 and 392 Forest Avenue will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the applicant, Capital One Bank, NA, seeking an authorization pursuant to Section 119-312 of the Zoning Resolution to facilitate the construction of a commercial building with an adjacent parking lot. The project is located at 386-392 Forest Avenue in the Port Richmond Section of Staten Island Community District 1, New York.
