New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Operations Announces Public Review Period for Draft Annual Report Five for General Permit GP-02-02.
This notice announces the availability of the Draft Annual Report prepared by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), Division of Operations, pursuant to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer Systems (MS4s), GP-02-02. The Draft Annual Report documents activities related to the NYS DEC Division of Operations Stormwater Management Program during the Reporting Period for Year Five, March 10, 2007 to March 9, 2008. The NYS DEC Division of Operations is making this document available for public comment for a period of 30 days, ending August 20, 2008. Interested parties may provide their comments to the NYS DEC by e-mail or mail to be considered in finalizing the documents.
Background: SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Municipal Separate Stormwater Sewer Systems (MS4s), GP-02-02, requires that agencies or municipalities identified as Regulated Small MS4s must develop a Stormwater Management Program to address six Minimum Control Measures. This public notice serves to comply with the NYS DEC "Public Involvement/Participation" Minimum Control Measure.

Public Comment on Draft Commissioner Order under VTL 2405

Project Title: Draft Commissioner Order to open to ATV traffic specified sections of NYSDEC roads.
Project Description: Draft Commissioner Order to authorize NYSDEC Region 6 staff to post as open to all terrain vehicles (ATV) traffic a 1.1 mile section of Hessel Road (also know as the Remington Truck Road) from the Wart-Van Wormer intersection to the Brown Road Extension and a 0.7 mile section of Wart Road (also know as the Blood Truck Road). Both of these sections of road are located in the Winona State Forest, which is under the Department's jurisdiction. This draft Commissioner Order is in accordance with Vehicle and Traffic Law Order Section 2405(1) and 6 NYCRR 190.8(m).
Public Comment: NYSDEC shall accept public comment on this draft order through Friday, July 31, 2008. A copy of the draft order and respective negative declaration can be obtained from the contact person listed below.
