Notice of tree cutting for construction of an access driveway, Conservation Recreation Facility Supervisor's Residence, garage, and leach field, as noted in the approved Unit Management Plan (UMP). The residence is needed to house a campground supervisor who will live on site and manage the recreation facility when it's open to the public. The garage will house the vehicle, and provide for a lunchroom, bathroom, and small work shop for the campground staff. The leach field will handle the grey water from the residence and garage facility bathrooms.
There is a total of sixty (60) trees that have to be removed for construction purposes. All tree removal work will be performed in accordance with the Department's policy LF-91-2. The UMP was approved and adopted in the Final Scaroon Manor Public Campground UMP, signed by Commissioner Crotty on August 19, 2002. As required by Commissioners Delegation Memorandum # 84-06.

Project Description: The action involves the construction over the Great Sacandaga Lake of a new replacement bridge adjacent to the existing Batchellerville Bridge which is to be removed. The new bridge will have 11 foot travel lanes, a six foot shoulder on one side and a six foot shoulder and sidewalk on the other side. The existing bridge is 28 feet wide and the new bridge will be 40.35 feet wide. The existing bridge has 20 piers and the new bridge will have 12 piers. The new bridge will have an approximate 42 foot clearance for boat traffic at its highest point. The new bridge will be approximately 18 feet taller than the existing bridge. The bridge will have five-rail galvanized handrails and light posts.
