Nassau County Village Officials Association - Solid Waste Committee

Request for Proposals for Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Services on behalf of the Villages of: East Rockaway, Freeport, Garden City, Lynbrook, Malverne, Rockville Centre and Valley Stream

The Nassau County Village Officials Association - Solid Waste Committee (NCVOA-SWC) is seeking Proposals from private or public sector entities to provide Disposal Services by means of providing one or more Transfer Stations, or a Designated Disposal Facility. Proposals are due at 99 Church Street in Malverne, New York by 3:00 p.m. on July 18, 2008. The successful Proposer(s) shall commence services on August 20, 2009. Contractors may propose to use publicly owned Transfer Stations within the Villages as part of their Disposal Services. The RFP may be obtained by contacting:

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District as lead agency, has determined that the Proposed Additions, Alterations and Site Improvements at the Albert G. Prodell Middle School will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the additions, alterations, improvements and site improvements at the Albert G. Prodell Middle School, including the construction of four individual building additions totaling 52,923 ± square feet (increasing gross floor area of the Middle School from 103,607 ± square feet to 156,530 ± square feet). The project is located at 100 Randal Road in Shoreham, Town of Brookhaven, New York.

Suffolk County - The Huntington Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Huntington Hospital Parking Terrace will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a 2-level, 968 stall parking terrace in an area currently occupied by an existing parking lot. The action modifies a previous covenant and restriction with regard to setbacks. The raised deck will have a setback of 25 feet to the closest point from Park Avenue and 25 feet to the closest point from Maple Hill Road. The action also involves application to the Town Zoning Board of Appeals to allow a raised deck height of 19 feet. The project is located on the southeast corner of Park Avenue (County Route 35) and Maple Hill Road, Huntington, New York.

Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Atria Senior Living Group, Inc. (Area Variances) may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The applicant, Atria Senior Living Group, Inc. is seeking area variances to allow an approximately 18,030 square foot expansion of the existing senior living facility, situated on a 12.9 acre parcel. The addition would be located at the southeast corner of the existing building. The requested variances include: a parking stall variance, parking setback variances for the front and side yard, and a side yard setback variance. The project is located at 10 Cheshire Place, on the east side of Cheshire Place, approximately 530 feet north of Fifth Avenue in the hamlet of Northport in the Town of Huntington, New York.
