Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct one (1) 20" X 10" diameter new production well rated at 1,388 GPM, approximately 350 feet deep, at the Authority owned existing Fish Road well field. The well will be part of the Middle Island intermediate water supply system, which serves the hamlets of Manorville, East Moriches, Ridge and East Shoreham. The well field is located southeast of the intersection of Fish Road (Anthony Drive) and N.Y.S. Route 25A Bypass, Rocky Point, Town of Brookhaven.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to demolish an existing and construct a new single family dwelling with accessory structures partially within the adjacent area of a regulated freshwater wetland designated SA-10. While work would be conducted within 100 feet of the wetland boundary, the closest permanent structure would be located 60.5 feet away. A walkway would also be constructed across the dune to the beach. A man-made pond situated 42 feet from the freshwater wetland and its accessory pumps and other equipment would be removed as would rock retaining walls. It is proposed to plant native vegetation in all disturbed areas. Only the proposed walkway falls within the jurisdiction of the Tidal Wetlands Act.
