Franklin County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Fish Reclamation of Ledge Pond (Application Number: 2008-122) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Regulated activity involving wetland: proposed use of pesticide rotenone at a concentration of 1.0 ppm to remove non-native yellow perch; native-but-widely distributed brown bullheads, white sucker, northern redbelly dace, pumpkinseed and creek chub. The objective is to restore a native fish community which will be stocked with brook trout and round whitefish following natural degradation of the chemical. This will be a first time reclamation of the pond. This treatment project is consistent with the approved Unit Management Plan for the Saint Regis Canoe Area. The project is located in the Town of Santa Clara, New York at Ledge Pond and the outlet to Pink Pond.
