Negative Declaration

Dutchess County - The Village of Rhinebeck Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rhinebeck Commons Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the subdivision of a parcel into eight (8) lots. Seven (7) of the lots will be single family residences served by a new public road, individual water and sewer service connections. The eighth lot will serve as a conservation parcel, where the only anticipated disturbances are vegetative screening, stormwater management and utilities. The project is located on Locust Grove Road in the Town of Rhinebeck, New York.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Westchester County - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hillview Reservoir Cover may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted by the contact person listed below until August 8, 2008. A public scoping session will be held on July 16, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mark Twain Junior High School - Auditorium.

The action involves the proposal by NYC DEP to design, construct, and place into operation a concrete cover for the Hillview Reservoir. The project is being proposed to meet the water supply needs of the City of New York and to comply with state and federal drinking water standards. The concrete cover would be constructed on New York City owned property (the Hillview Reservoir Site) within the City of Yonkers, in Westchester County, New York.

The concrete cover will be constructed at the Hillview Reservoir Site, an approximately 150 acre site owned and operated by NYC DEP. The site is located near the southern border of Westchester County in the southeast section of the City of Yonkers. The 900 million gallon reservoir has two basins, occupies approximately 90 acres of the site, and serves to provide balancing storage and maintain adequate pressures for the New York City water supply system.

The project is located in Yonkers, New York in the area bounded by the New York State Thruway (I-87) on the west, Kimball Avenue on the east, Hillview Avenue on the South and Yonkers Avenue to the north.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft SEIS and Public Hearing

Orange County - The Town of Cornwall Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Cornwall Commons Planned Adult Community (PAC) Site Plan. A public hearing on the Draft SEIS will be held on July 7, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town of Cornwall Town Hall, 183 Main Street, Cornwall, NY. Written comments on the Draft SEIS will be accepted by the lead agency until ten (10) days after the close of the hearing. The DSEIS is availbale at: http://www.cornwallcommonspac.com. The action involves a request for site plan approval for a PAC plan consisting of 490 age-restricted units (314 single family detached, 14 single family attached, and 162 attached units), plus community recreation facilities, on Lot 10 of the Cornwall Commons subdivision consisting of 158.9 acres on a proposed town road connecting to NYS Route 9W. The project is located northwest of Route 9W new the former O & W Railway line up to the Town of New Windsor municipal boundary line in the Town of Cornwall, New York.

Ulster County - The Planning Board of the Town of New Platz, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Crossroads at New Paltz. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 23, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the New Paltz Town Hall, 1 Veteran's Drive, New Platz, NY 12561. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until July 11, 2008. The action involves a proposed mixed use development on a 57.26 acre site to be known as Crossroads at New Paltz. The project is located west of South Ohioville Road, south of Paradies Lane and NYS Route 299, and east of the New York State Thruway Exit 18 ramp in the Town of New Paltz, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS, Public Hearing (Correction) and Extension of Comment Period

Westchester County - The Town of North Salem Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Salem Hunt. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town of North Salem Annex, 266 Titicus Road, North Salem, NY 10560. An extension on the Draft EIS written comments has been granted until July 30, 2008. The action involves the development of approximately 39.9 acres of land within an R-MF/4 Medium-Density Residence District. The proposed action seeks to develop 65 two bedroom condominium units within 24 buildings. The development will be served by private subsurface sewage treatment and water supply systems, and would be accessed by a private road. The development is proposed to include 13 (20%) Moderate Income Housing units. The project is located on the west side of June Road in the Town of North Salem, New York.
