Project Description:

Operation of a surface unconsolidated sand and gravel mine located on a 244.98 acre parcel of land with a Life-of-Mine of 22.3 acres, including surface water mining resulting in a final water surface area of a maximum of 7.0 acres. Reclamation will be concurrent with mining. The proposed operator currently operates a topsoil processing and marketing business on the site. On-site processing/screening is planned; however, they will below permitting thresholds, so no Air Registration or Permit will be required. The proposed mine is located approximately five miles southwest of Syracuse, four miles southwest of Nedrow; and northwest of the Hamlet of South Onondaga, on the south side of the intersection of Bussey and Tanner Roads.
