Pursuant to Section 30-a of the Public Lands Law the Office of General Services hereby gives notice to the following:

Notice is herby given that the Office of Mental Health has declared the Downstate Distribution Center, improved with a one story (+), industrial building consisting of 136,720 ± square feet, circa 1970 and located on an approximately 13 acre site in Central Islip, Suffolk County is no longer useful for State program purposes and has been declared abandoned to the Commissioner of General Services for sale or other disposition as unappropriated State land.

Negative Declaration

Nassau County - The Town of North Hempstead, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Mill Pond Water Quality Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the dewatering of a pond, dredging of approximately 7,700 cubic yards and regrading of the bottom to create tidal wetland, lower the existing weir, installation of a new weir in a concrete sluiceway and the excavating of two forebays in the pond. On pond perimeter walkways and seating will be installed and pervious parking. The project is located at Shore Road and Mill Pond Road in Port Washington, New York.

Nassau County - The Town of North Hempstead, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Roslyn Pond Water Quality Improvement Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the improvements to a 3 pond system connected via streams set in a Town park. The project involves the dewatering of the pond, dredging of approximately 6,000 cubic yards and the regrading of the bottom, invasive species removal, installation of a new weir, stream bank stabilization, and treatment wetland. The project is located at Main Street and Broadway in the Village of Roslyn, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed "Riverside Hamlet Center Mixed Use Planned Development District Strategy Study" Adoption of Strategy Study, Design Guidelines and Implementing Regulations (Riverside Hamlet Center Mixed Use Planned Development District- RHCMUPDD). A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on June 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until July 22, 2008.

The proposed action consists of two major components:

1) Adoption of the "Riverside Hamlet Center Mixed Use Planned Development District Strategy Study" as an amendment to the Town's Comprehensive Plan. The purpose is to create a vibrant downtown that will foster community identity and social interaction, provide a mix of economic investment and revitalization opportunities, promote tax ratable development and local employment prospects, expand and diversify the Town's housing stock by providing live-work opportunities, improve transportation, and provide a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere by creating a mixed-use district that contains compatible commercial, industrial, civic, recreational and residential land uses.

2) Adoption of a Local Law (§330-248T, Riverside Hamlet Center Mixed Use Planned Development District- RHCMUPDD) that reflects the goals, objectives and recommendations of the Riverside Hamlet Center Mixed Use Planned Development District Strategy Study. The proposed local law will rezone and establish design guidelines for approximately 52.8 acres from Light Industrial (LI-40), Highway Business (HB) and Residential (R-15) and further create a 'design standard' overlay district affecting approximately 12.74 acres in two (2) separate locations adjacent to the subject site located on the south side of Riverhead-Hampton Bays Road (SR 24) in the Hamlet of Riverside, Town of Southampton.

The project is located on the south side of Riverhead-Hampton Bays Road (SR 24) bounded by Old Quogue Road to the west and Phillips Avenue to the east in Riverside, Town of Southampton, New York.
