Negative Declaration

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Deer Lake Apartments will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of 248 ± attached dwelling units and a community building/club house on 29.83 ± acres of land. The plan shows the apartments arranged in 31 buildings around an existing pond with two (2) driveways to Chestnut Ridge Road. This property is adjacent to the Chestnut Ridge Student Housing development under construction to the east. The petitioner is M. J. Peterson, 501 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY, 14228. The project is located at 4460 Chestnut Ridge Road in the Town of Amherst, New York.

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Modifications to Zoning Ordinance will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a modification of Section 7-6-7 of the Town Zoning Ordinance dealing with length of dead ends and culs-de-sac. The amended regulation would limit the length of culs-de-sac and dead end streets with only one point of access to 800 feet in length and eliminate the Planning Board's authority to vary this requirement. The project is located town wide in the Town of Amherst, New York.

The action involves the sale of the Mennonite Meeting House, to People, Inc. for that organization's use as a museum of disability. The Meeting House was constructed in 1834 and is listed on the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places. The petitioner is the Town of Amherst, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, NY. The project is located 5178 Main Street in the Town of Amherst, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Erie County - The Town Board of the Town of Grand Island, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Country Club Cottages. The action involves a rezoning of lands from R1-D to R1-E for the construction of up to 78 single family detached homes. The proposed project also includes roadway construction, the creation of an on site storm water management system, subdivision of land into individual building lots, lot grading, and water and sewer system extensions to support the proposed development.
