Project Description: Land clearing, grading and filling to create a waste disposal area to dispose of waste generated by the New York State Department of Transportation Route 30 reconstruction project. Approximately 10,000 cubic yards of concrete, soil, rocks, and other material excavated from the NYS Route 30 reconstruction project will be disposed of on the site. Access to the site will be over an existing driveway. A vegetated buffer, approximately 75 to 100 feet in width, will remain between the waste disposal area and the NYS Route 30 highway right-of-way. The waste disposal area will be ringed by silt fence and there will be no site disturbance within 100 feet of wetlands or streams on or adjacent to the project site, except for adding process run to the existing driveway near its intersection with NYS Route 30. Dust will be controlled on the project site as necessary. Once the waste disposal site is completed all disturbed areas will be graded and seed and mulch will be installed to stabilize the site with growing vegetation. NYS Department of Transportation environmental staff have reviewed the proposed site and recommend approval of the waste disposal site with appropriate conditions provided it is operated within all the Departments Standard Specifications regarding waste disposal sites associated with NYSDOT contracts.
