Project Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation is reviewing a TRP application ( #4668) to allow the Town of Shandaken permission to use the Catskill Interpretive Center Site for Shandaken Day Festival, a community sponsored annual celebration.

Project Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation is reviewing a TRP application to allow the Belleayre Conservatory to present the Belleayre Music Festival which features 15 performances throughout the summer. Events include a wide variety of music and dance and include two free family concerts. The 2008 festival marks the 16th year of this event, and has been scheduled.

Comments will be accepted until May 14, 2008.

Negative Declaration

Ulster County - The Town of Rosendale Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Legacy Farms Cooperative Housing will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposal by Ulster County Cooperative Housing, LLC, doing business as Legacy Farms Cooperative Housing, to construct thirty-seven (37) residential units, including fifteen (15) single family homes, eleven (11) duplex residential homes, one (1) community building, a private wastewater treatment facility and installation of renewable solar cell on approximately 55.9 acres. The project is located at 157 Binnewater Road in the Town of Rosendale, New York.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Orange County - The Board of Trustees of the Village of Chester, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Property Annexation from Town of Chester to the Village of Chester may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The petitioner has issued a Draft Scope. The Draft Scope will be transmitted to the other involved agencies and a public hearing will be held to allow public input no more than 30 days from the date of this positive declaration. The action involves the proposal to annex 60.6 acres of property from the Town of Chester to the Village of Chester, to rezone the property and to construct a 438 unit residential community (with partial senior housing) with connections to the Village's sewer and water services. The entire site would be approximately 68.3 acres. The project is located on the northeast side of NYS Route 17M in the Town of Chester, New York, adjacent to the corporate boundary of the Village of Chester, New York.

Rockland County - The Village of New Hempstead Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Bais Malka School may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on May 14, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village of New Hempstead Village Hall, 108 Old Schoolhouse Road, New City, NY 10956. The action involves the construction of a new Religious School facility (Yeshiva), including a Beth Midrash (Chapel) for the Bais Malka School totaling 76, 651 ± square feet for preschool to Grade 12 students and staff. The project is located on NYS Route 306 and Grandview Avenue (CR-80) in Monsey, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Town/Village of Harrison Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Sherman Avenue Subdivision. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on May 20, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Alfred F. Sulla, Jr. Municipal Building, One Heineman Place, Harrison, NY 10528. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until May 30, 2008. The action involves the proposal to subdivide a 14.62 acre vacant parcel into thirteen (13) one acre single family building lots and a fourteenth (14) lot to be used as a stormwater detention parcel, to improve the unimproved section of Sherman Avenue and Livingston Street and to construct an emergency access road from the main access point (Sherman Avenue) to Dorado Drive for emergency vehicles only. The proposed residences would be supplied with public water and sewer service by extending existing mains already traversing the property. A stormwater management system consisting of a detention basin and dry wells on the individual lots is proposed to be established as part of the development. Approximately 38 percent of the site along the western side will be disturbed, 62 percent will remain undisturbed. The project is located on Sherman Avenue in Harrison, New York.
