Project Description: The action involves the relocation and reconstruction of a commercial use operation (including the retail sale of bakery/produce, antiques, and a landscape/greenery business). Three preexisting commercial buildings will be removed to allow for the reconstruction/realignment of New York State Route 28, and a new 40' by 80' replacement commercial building will be constructed on the project site, further from Route 28. Additionally, a new tourist accommodation, consisting of six new 16' X 20' rental cabins is also proposed on the project site.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Jefferson County - The Town of Watertown Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Expansion of the Salmon Run Mall. The action involves the site plan approval and all other applicable municipal permits and approvals for the construction and operation of a total expansion of 124,000 ± square feet at the Salmon Run Mall. The project will consist of a 20,000 ± square feet expansion (immediately west of the Dealmaker Auto retail space) and 104,000 ± square feet expansion (north of Gander Mountain) and will include ancillary on and off site amenities. The action will also include the excavation of previously undisturbed areas, new buildings, new parking, new siltation and detention basins and a new perimeter ring road. The project is located on Salmon Run Mall Loop Road West, bounded on the east by I-81, south by Arsenal Street and north by Coffen Street in the Town of Watertown, New York.
