Notice of Information Hearing Adirondack Park Agency Project Application 2007-147

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to §804(6) of the Adirondack Park Agency Act, the Adirondack Park Agency will hold an informational hearing regarding the application of Antlers of Raquette Lake, Inc. and Dean H. and Donna B. Pohl for a project proposed in the Town of Long Lake, Hamilton County, on the shoreline of Raquette Lake (APA Application No. 2007-147).
The hearing will be held on Friday April 25, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Town of Long Lake Town Hall in Long Lake, New York.
A revised site plan and supporting application materials will be available for public inspection during the hearing. Agency staff members will appear at the hearing, to provide information to any persons who may attend the hearing and to receive statements concerning the project proposal.
The proposed project is described as follows: Expanding a preexisting single family dwelling to create a new commercial use, (restaurant) and tourist accommodation to be located on the shoreline of Raquette Lake. The proposed commercial use/tourist accommodation would include an Inn with 20 guest units and a small gift shop and an 80 seat restaurant with a tavern. The footprint of the overall building, including all additions, would measure approximately 15,000 square feet. An 8' X 100' dock is also proposed for boat access to the new commercial establishment; no commercial tour boats or other commercial watercraft would be docked at the site and no more than 5 boats would be docked at one time. As proposed by the applicant, the hours of operation for the restaurant would be 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Sun - Thurs) 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (Sat & Sun); the hours of operation for the tavern would be 6:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. (serving breakfast and lunch). It is also proposed that the facility would occasionally accommodate banquets, weddings, etc. There would be no entertainment on the site after 10:00 p.m.
