Project Description:

The applicant proposes to: remove 24 existing stick docks that provide docking for 40 boats; install two floating docks (one to be 140' x 8' and the other 100' x 8' each terminating with an 8' x 40' float in a "T" configuration), 56 mooring piles, a 6' x 24' ramp connecting each floating dock configuration to the existing bulkhead; dredge the float area to a maximum depth of four feet below mean low water and place resultant 1,600 cubic yards of spoil in containment area in the existing parking area for dewatering and subsequent placement and/or transport to approved upland location; remove deteriorated 33' x 30' concrete boat ramp and replace with 33' x 38' concrete boat ramp. This Section V Marina facility is located at Riviera Drive between Huntington Drive and Islip Road, SCTM# 200-984.6-2-18, Mastic Beach, Brookhaven Town, Suffolk County on Sheep Pen Creek.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Apr 17, 2008.
