The applicant proposes to excavate to deepen an existing quarry drainage ditch on the northwestern primeter of the mine and within and adjacent to FWW OG-5 to provide positive drainage to the wetland. A second proposal on the western side of the quarry will impact approximately 0.03 acres of a Corps-jurisdictional wetland as a result of quarry operations.

No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Applicant proposes to subdivide a 20.2 acre parcel creating 14 single family residential lots. The project is located north of Ryan's Run and West of Manitou Road in the Town of Ogden, Monroe County. The subdivision, Statt Meadows, will be accessed by an extension of Ryan's Run to a cul-de-sac. Alternatives were explored to allow upland development while eliminating or minimizing disturbance of NYS Freshwater Wetland OG-21 (III) or the 100 ft. adjacent area. The application is for for grading .28 acres of freshwater wetland adjacent area on lots 1,2,and 3, within the 100 ft. adjacent area of wetland OG-21. The balance of the property, including a portion of wetland OG-21 and .42 acres of upland, will be encumbered via a conservation easement to the Town of Ogden.

Project Description:

This is a combined Notice of Complete Application for the proposed aquatic herbicide treatments in Waneta and Lamoka lakes for the control of the invasive plant Eurasian watermilfoil. The herbicide proposed for use is the liquid form of the active ingredient triclopyr, tradmarked and sold as Renovate® 3, and the granular/flake form sold as Renovate® OTF. In Waneta Lake a total of +/-111 acres in 5 near shore, littoral zone locations will be treated, primarily at the north and south ends of the lake. Application rates will range between 1.5 and 2.25 ppm and will be monitored every two weeks until the triclopyr concentration drops to ≈1 ppb. In Lamoka Lake, a total of +/-152 acres of littoral zone in a nearly continuous band around the upper part of the lake, above Mud Creek, will be treated in 2008. Application rates will range between 1.5 and 2.5 ppm, and will be monitored in the same fashion as in Waneta Lake. Aquatic plant surveys will be conducted after treatment to establish and document the effectiveness of the treatment. Areas in both lakes which are not treated in 2008 are intended for treatment in 2009. Treatments are tentatively scheduled for the end of April in both 2008 and 2009. Copies of the application documents, maps and project plans are available for review at the Town Hall in the town of Tyrone, the town of Bradford and at the DEC Region 8 office in Avon, NY.
