Project Description:

A road improvement and realignment project located one mile south of the confluence of Deerlick Creek and Indian River, 1.6 miles east of Lewisburg and .2 miles northeast of Baker Road in the Town of Diana, Lewis County on the Fort Drum Military Installation involving the filling of .07 acres and the temporary disturbance of .03 acres of a 159.1 acre class 2 state regulated wetland, the extension of a culvert in a class D stream, the temporary disturbance of said stream during construction, the cutting and filling of .16 acres of unregulated wetland and the temporary disturbance of .13 acres of unregulated wetland during construction. In the class 2 wetland, a single row gabion stone basket wall will be built and backfilled. All project fill will consist of rock blasted from a ledge during construction and material excavated out of the existing road location. There is a mitigation plan in place for compensation.
