Project Location: Town of Lake George
Project Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation is reviewing a TRP application to allow a triathalon sporting event using Lake George Battlefield and Lake George Beach Intensive Use Areas facilities on September 14, 2008, to include setup activities on the 12th and 13th. This would be the 3rd year to hold this event. The proposed event is a fund-raiser, with proceeds from race benefitting several local charities including the Glens Falls YMCA youth scholarship program, the Glens Falls Youth Center and the Lake George Youth Commission.

Project Title: FrontStreet Mountain Development (FSMD), the Town of Johnsburg and the NYS Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA)

Project Description: The project will be called Ski Bowl Village at Gore Mountain. It is a residential and resort complex, including a 120 room hotel, 34 room inn, 60 room inn, 131 townhouses, 80 condominium/hotel units, a private ski lodge, 18 single family dwellings, 4 artist apartments, 10 single room apartments for staff housing, restaurants, equestrian center with an outdoor riding arena, mountain spa, retail space and a 9 hole par 3 golf course. The project also includes the exchange of lands between the Town of Johnsburg and FSMD. The Town will receive lands which will become ski trails, restoring the former North Creek Ski Bowl trails. ORDA will develop and operate a quad chairlift, Ski Hut, parking and 8 ski trails on 202 acre town owned North Creek Ski Bowl Park. FSMD will build a wastewater treatment plant for the project, which will also serve the Town Ski Hut. FSMD will also develop new water supply wells for the use of the Town and this project. FSMD has agreements with the Town to provide additional fire equipment and facilities. The Town has agreements with ORDA regarding the operation of the Town ski area.
