Project Description:

The applicant proposes to expand an existing 36.1 acre mining facility by 32.9 acres into areas southwest of the current mine. The expansion would avoid state protected wetlands and 100 foot adjacent areas. The area would be reclaimed to meadow/wildlife habitat area. Also, proposed is new gravel washing area within the currently permitted mine with all wash waters contained within the site. Project plans are available for review in the Syracuse Office.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The Town of Mexico proposes to serve up to 90,000 gallons of potable water per day from the Village of Mexico's wells through 140,000 feet of new water main throughout the new district. Numerous stream and wetland crossings will be accomplished by directional bore or open trench method with adequate measures implemented to control turbidity and sedimentation. Project plans are available for review in the Syracuse Office.

Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
