Negative Declaration

Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New York City's Long-Term Watershed Protection Program In Support Of Renewal Of Its Filtration Avoidance Determination For The Catskill And Delaware System will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. Following the completion of the environmental review for New York City's Long-Term Watershed Protection Program, it was determined that the EAF and Negative Declaration issued on September 7, 2007 did not sufficiently address the Watershed Land Acquisition Program (WLAP) in the West Branch / Boyd's Corner basin, which includes portions of the Towns of Carmel, Kent, Putnam Valley, and East Fishkill. Therefore, NYC DEP undertook a revised assessment of the WLAP in this basin. In addition, the Modification to the Negative Declaration corrected an inaccurate representation of the acreage proposed to be solicited through the beginning of 2012. The project is located in the New York City Catskill and Delaware Watersheds in New York State.
