Public Meeting Notice

Shandaken Tunnel Outlet SPDES Permit General Meeting - February 27, 2008

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) hereby gives notice that a meeting will be held from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, on Wednesday February 27, 2008, at the DEP office located at 71 Smith Avenue in Kingston, New York.

The meeting is being held in accordance with State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Discharge Permit No. NY-026-8151, for the Shandaken Tunnel Outlet. NYC DEP will discuss the progress of several projects in the Catskill watershed region. Public input is welcome.

The meeting is open to the public.

Negative Declaration

Otsego County - The Richfield Springs Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Richfield Springs Central School District New Transportation Facility will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new transportation and storage building of approximately 17,000 square feet to include inside storage of 12 buses, 4 maintenance bays, one wash bay and associated offices, in addition to new asphalt parking, drive lanes and access road and an exterior fueling island. The project is located on Walnut Street in Richfield Springs, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Comment Period

Columbia County - The Town of Stockport Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Holmes Estates at Columbia Springs Planned Development District. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 19, 2008. The action involves the approval of a zoning change to accommodate 115 residential units configured as a Planned Development District (PDD) consisting of seventy nine (79) single family homes, with lot size ranges from 0.17 acres to 0.5 acres, and thirty six (36) duplex townhouse units. The proposed revision in site layout permits an equivalent number of residential units to be developed while minimizing impacts to land and wetlands, and also minimizes the amount of infrastructure to be installed and maintained. The project is located on Route 9 in the Town of Stockport, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Comment Period (Correction)

Greene County - The Town of Coxsackie, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Amendments. Written comments on the Draft GEIS will be accepted until Febuary 14, 2008. The DGEIS is available at the Coxsackie Town and Village Offices and on the website: www.coxsackiecommunityplan.net. The action involves the adoption of a new comprehensive plan and zoning amendments for the Town and Village of Coxsackie. The project is located in the Town and Village of Coxsackie, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Montgomery County - The Town of Florida Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Hero/Beech-Nut Facility and Headquarters Relocation. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on February 4, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town of Florida Town Hall on Fort Hunter Road in Amsterdam, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 14, 2008. A copy of the Draft EIS is available for review at the Florida Town Hall and the following additional locations:

The action involves the proposal by Hero Group, Inc. for the Hero/Beech-Nut facility including a new infant food processing and production facility, an attached office building serving as the new corporate headquarters, truck loading / unloading facilities and truck trailer / car parking areas. The new facilities will be constructed on Lot 4 of the Florida Business Park adjacent to and just east of the Target Distribution Center (formerly the K-Mart Distribution Center). The project is located on Hirschfeld Road in the Florida Business Park, Town of Florida, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Comment Period

Schenectady County - The City of Schenectady, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Adoption of New Comprehensive Plan and New Zoning Ordinance and New Zoning Map for the City of Schenectady. Written comments on the Draft GEIS will be accepted until February 21, 2008. The DGEIS will be posted on the following website: http://www.cityofschenectady.com/Schenectady2020/2020home.htm. The action involves the adoption of the City of Schenectady Final Draft Comprehensive Plan which includes a Citywide Plan, nine Neighborhood Plans, and a Downtown Plan and the adoption of a new Zoning Ordinance and new Zoning Map. The project is located citywide in the City of Schenectady, New York.
