The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Public Meeting Notice

Nassau County - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (NYS OPRHP), as lead agency, has scheduled a Public Information meeting on the proposed Brentwood Athletic Complex. A public meeting on the project will be held on January 28, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Suffolk County Community College, Grant Campus Health, Sport and Education Lecture Hall. The action involves the construction of improvements in two phases to existing active outdoor recreational facilities at the 52 acre Brentwood State Park. The first phase includes grading, utilities, 300 vehicle parking spaces, buildings for park services, 8 soccer fields, 2 baseball fields, lighting, service road, pedestrian paths, perimeter fencing, and site furniture. Phase 2 includes 9 soccer fields, 2 baseball fields, additional field lighting (as needed), 275 vehicle parking spaces, playgrounds, additional pedestrian paths and informational kiosks. Details on the proposal and its environmental impacts and mitigation will be discussed at the public meeting. The project is located at the Brentwood State Park, Crooked Hill Road and Community College Road in Brentwood, New York.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Acquisition of Land under the Multifaceted Land Preservation Program for Parkland Purposes Known as the Three Mile Harbor County Park Addition - Boys & Girls Harbor, Inc. Property will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the acquisition of 27.82 acres of land by Suffolk County and the Town of East Hampton for parkland purposes. The project is located at Boy and Girls Harbor, Inc., Springy Banks Road, East Hampton, New York.
