Public Notice

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 24 (Freshwater Wetlands Act) of the New York State Environmental Conservation Law and the Freshwater Wetlands Mapping and Classification Regulations (6 NYCRR Part 664) that New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) proposes to amend Seneca County Freshwater Wetland Maps 7-8 and 10-11 of 16 originally filed in 1985.

The wetland amendments would affect 26 wetlands and consist of additions, boundary adjustments and revisions to wetland classifications and wetland identification numbers. The proposed amendments would add approximately 2,100 acres of regulated wetland to the maps. Maps showing the proposed revisions are available at the clerk's office in the village, town and county where the change is taking place, as well as at the NYS DEC Region 8 Office, 6274 E. Avon-Lima Road, Avon, NY. Written comments on the accuracy of the proposed changes to the maps may be mailed to the contact person listed below through February 15, 2008. All comments received through February 15, 2008 will be considered. Pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 664, once the announcement of a proposed amendment has been made, no activity subject to regulation under the Freshwater Wetlands Act may be initiated without a permit from NYS DEC within the area that is the subject of the proposal (including the 100 foot or extended wetland adjacent area) until the Commissioner has either amended the map or denied the amendment.

Negative Declaration

Monroe County - The City of Rochester City Planning Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Crown Castle USA will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the replacment of an existing 150' lattice-style telecommunications tower with a 180' lattice-style tower (194' to top of antenna) for the County of Monroe Enhanced 911 Program upgrades and also to co-locate four (4) existing and two (2) future personal wireless telecommunications providers on the tower. The project includes an expanded lease area, installation of fencing and installation/erection of accessory equipment and equipment buildings. The project is located at 1570 Lakeshore Boulevard in the City of Rochester, New York.

Amended Negative Declaration

Schuyler County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed It's Greener Now, Inc. - Padua Gravel Pit Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the expansion of an existing mine from 14.33 to 106.27 acres in the Town of Dix. The project straddles NYS Route 409, immediately north of Watkins Glen State Park. This Determination is an Amended Negative Declaration, superceding the Negative Declaration dated May 14, 2007. The original Determination of Significance was revisited due to comments received during the public comment period. The project is located at 3362 NYS Route 409 in Watkins Glen, New York.
