The Canandaigua Lake Watershed Council, in partnership with the Canandaigua School District, proposes to construct two stormwater wetlands and stabilize segments of banks on Sucker Brook to address localized existing flooding issues and improve the water quality of this tributary to Canandaigua Lake. The first stormwater wetland will be constructed on school district property at Pearl Street North of the Primary/Elementary School. The second stormwater wetland will be constructed on the Canandaigua Wine facility on Buffalo Street. Streambank stabilization work will be conducted between Clark and Parish Street. Work proposed is a result of NYS Department of State Environmental Protection Fund grant to study stormwater management in the Sucker Brook Watershed. Partial funding of this project has been provided by the NYSDEC Environmental Protection Fund's Water Quality Improvement Program. The projects have been coordinated with the Buffalo District US Army Corps of Engineers who have determined that an individual 401 Water Quality Certification is required from the Department.
