Notice of Completion of Final EIS

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Rezoning: 218 & 330 Maple Road from CF & R-3 to MFR-6 and GB. The action involves the rezoning of 33.326 ± acres of land for a proposed mixed-use development to consist of retail, restaurant, office, community theater, hotel and residential uses. The petitioner is Benderson Development Company, LLC, 570 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202.

The property is currently zoned Community Facilities (CF) and Residential District - Three (R-3). The property is the former location of the now vacant Buffalo Shooting Club and a single family home adjacent westerly. The Shooting Club property is predominantly open grassed land with some scrub growth in the western portion. The residential property is partially wooded in the rear.

The applicant is requesting to rezone 28.114 ± acres from CF to General Business (GB), and 5.212 ± acres from CF and R-3 to Multi-Family Residential District - Six (MFR-6). The proposed development will include 250,000 ± square feet of retail space, 35,000 ± square feet of restaurants, 12,000 ± square feet of office space, 4,000 ± square feet of community theater, 125 hotel rooms and 75 ± townhouse/condominium units. The project is located at 218 and 330 Maple Road in the Town of Amherst, New York.
