The Department has received a permit application from Champlain Stone LTD for a modification to their South Bay Quarry which would increase the current 11.5-acre Life of Mine by 72.9 acres to result in +/-84.4 Life of Mine acres. The expansion area and the current mine is located within a +/-290.5-acre contiguous parcel owned by Eagle's Nest LLC. Blasting, truck traffic, days of operation and hours of operation will remain unchanged. The site is located on the west side of Pike Brook Rd., approximately 3.6 miles from the SR22 intersection. The project also requires approval from the Adirondack Park Agency.
