The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for the site indicated above.

NYS DEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

NYS DEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Negative Declaration

New York County (Bronx) - The New York City Department of City Planning, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 77 Reade Street will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the applicant, 77 Reade, LLC, request for a Special Permit pursuant to Zoning Resolution Section 74-711 (Landmark preservation in all districts) to modify the requirements governing rear yard equivalents (ZR section 23-533), minimum dimensions of inner courts (ZR section 23-851), and the minimum floor area contained within a loft dwelling (ZR section 111-111(b)) in connection with the proposed enlargement and conversion of a building. The project is located at 73-77 Reade Street in the Special Tribeca Mixed Use District of Manhattan Community District 1, New York City.

Richmond County (Staten Island) - The MTA New York City Transit (NYCT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Charleston Bus Annex will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposal to construct and operate a bus annex in the Charleston section of the Borough of Staten Island. The proposed project would consist of a new bus annex to be used for storage and servicing of approximately 220 NYCT buses. The bus annex would include a 2-story building and outdoor parking for buses and employee vehicles. The project is located at 4700 Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island, New York.
