Project Description:
The applicant proposes to develop and operate a new 15 acre sand and gravel mine on his property at 10247 Harper Road in the Town of Darien. The mine will operate as a traditional surface excavation of sand and gravel using mechanical equipment standard for this type of mining operation. Processing will include screening at a rate not to exceed 150 TPH; materials will be mined from below the water table. Final reclamation will be agricultural land and ponds, a house and associated structures.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.
SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jan 04, 2008.

Project Description:
The Department has received an application for the installation of a sanitary sewer forcemain to link the 38-lot Stonewood residential subdivision on Green Road in the Town of Farmington to an existing gravity sewer on Loomis Road south of the NYS Thruway. The purpose of this proposed project is to eliminate failing individual septic systems that are currently in service in the Stonewood subdivision. Approximately 425 linear feet of the sewer forcemain is proposed to be installed in the regulated 100 foot adjacent area of New York State regulated freshwater wetland CG-1 along Weigert Road in the Town of Farmington.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
