A Notice of Intent to Modify CWM Chemical Services - Model City Site's State Pollution Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit was noticed in the Environmental Notice Bulletin on October 17, 2007, with the comment period ending November 16, 2007.
Due to the public interest in the permit modification and under the Uniform Procedures Act (UPA) Regulations, 6NYCRR Section 621.14(a) a 60 day extension of the public comment period has been granted until January 15, 2008.
The UPA time frames were suspended on November 6, 2007 and will resume on January 16, 2008.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for investigation of the site indicated above.
NYS DEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.
Please note the application package includes the Remedial Draft Investigation Work Plan which describes the remedial activities to be conducted to investigate and determine the nature and extent of the contamination related to the site.
NYS DEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Wyoming County - The Town of Gainesville, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 2007 amendments to the Town of Gainesville Zoning Law will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposed amendments which will provide a regulatory scheme for the construction and operation of Wind Power Generating Facilities subject to reasonable restrictions, which will preserve the public health and safety. The law also adds a definition of and regulations for seasonal dwellings and provides for a more in depth site plan review procedure. The project is located in the Village of Gainesville, Town of Gainesville, New York.
