Notice of Completion of a Unit Management Plan Amendment

Project Description: The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announces the completion of a Unit Management Plan Amendment for the Belleayre Mountain Ski Center. The amendment authorizes the construction of a new 1,000 square foot, one story building at Belleayre Mountain Ski Center to house the adaptive skiing program. This building will service up to 10 guests at a time and will include a unisex accessible bathroom with partitions for storage and dressing areas. It is designed to be compatible in architectural style, color, and materials with the nearby Longhouse and Overlook Lodges. The building will be located adjacent to the summit of Lifts #1 & 2, with parking available in the maintenance garage lot and access to the novice ski slopes right from the building.
The Belleayre Mountain Ski Center Unit Management Plan (UMP) was adopted in May, 1998. The UMP provides information on the environmental setting, inventory of facilities, organizational structure, issues, constraints, management objectives, and effects.
The Belleayre Mountain Ski Center/Intensive Use Area is located off State Route 28, Highmount, Town of Shandaken, New York.
Westchester County - The Town of North Castle Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Armonk Square will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new mixed-use development consisting of five new buildings, parking areas and site amenities in downtown Armonk. Located within the CB-A (Central Business-A) Zoning District in North Castle, the site is approximately 3 acres in size and is proposed to include 13,360 square foot of retail space, a 4,000 square foot bank, a 1,500 square foot restaurant and 21 second floor residential units. Site Plan approval from the Planning Board, the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Landmarks Preservation Committee, Town Board approval of the Maple Avenue crosswalk, the elimination of on-street Maple Avenue parking and the establishment of CB-A Parking District regulations will be required. The project is located at 17 Maple Avenue & 402 Main Street, Armonk, New York 10504.
