The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for investigation of the site indicated above.
NYS DEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.
NYS DEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.
Comments should be submitted by December 7, 2007.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft GEIS and Public Hearing
Putnam County - The Town of Putnam Valley Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed adoption and implementation of the comprehensive plan for the Town of Putnam Valley. A public hearing on the Draft GEIS will be held on November 7, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the Town of Putnam Valley Town Hall, 265 Oscawana Lake Road, Putnam Valley, NY 10579. Written comments on the Draft GEIS will be accepted until November 16, 2007. A copy of the proposed Comprehensive DGEIS may reviewed at the following locations:
