Project Description:

Applicant proposes to construct a single family home with well and sanitary septic system on an existing 1.16 acre parcel located on the east side of Stormville Mountain Road approximately 2000 feet north of NYS Route 52. The property contains linear finger extensions of state wetland PQ-27 (class 1) and is entirely wetland or 100 foot regulated wetland adjacent area. In order to meet County Health Department standards, the applicant must pipe the wetland associated stream (class C) on the property and cover it with fill. The house access driveway from Stormville Mountain Road will also require a small wetland fill. The applicant`s family has owned the property since 1962. The portions of wetland PQ-27 on the property were added to the state regulatory map in 2006.

The applicant has applied for a permit to construct a replacement timber sheet pile bulkhead approximately 12 inches in front of 75 feet of an existing deteriorated timber bulkhead. The project includes: the removal of 27 feet of deteriorated timber bulkhead to be disposed of at an approved upland disposal area and replacement in kind 12 inches from the property boundary; the placement of 48 linear feet of new bulkheading about 12 inches in front of the existing deteriorated bulkheading and; the excavation of 65 cu. yds. of material from the top of the bulkhead area during the construction of the replacement bulkhead which will be stockpiled and reused once the new bulkhead is in place.
