Negative Declaration

Orleans County - The Town of Albion, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Albion Water District No. 7 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the extension of public water service to Albion Water District No. 7 including portions of Tut Hill Road, Densmore Road and Transit Road. Transit Road is the boundary between the Towns of Albion and Murray. The project will serve 17 units, including 14 properties in the Town of Albion and 3 properties in the Town of Murray. Approximately 10,740 linear feet of 6" and 8" watermain will be installed. In addition to the watermain, the project includes hydrants, valves, road crossings, excavation and bedding materials, watermain connections, residential hook-ups, and surface restoration. Residents in this area are dependent upon individual groundwater supplies that historically have produced very low yields of poor quality water. The project is located along portions of Tut Hill Road, Densmore Road and Transit Road, Towns of Albion & Murray, New York.

Steuben County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed drilling permit application for Fortuna Energy Inc. proposed Rush 1 natural gas well located within Steuben County Agricultural District 2 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the drilling of a natural gas well in the Town of Bath, located within Steuben County Agricultural District 2. Drilling operations will be conducted in accordance with the drilling permit issued and rules and regulations of the Department. The total area proposed to be disturbed during the initial construction phase for the well site and access road is 212,800 square feet or approximately 4.9 acres. After the well has been drilled, it will be put into production or plugged and abandoned. The well pad and access road areas for a producing well will be reduced to 87,520 square feet or approximately 2 acres and the remaining disturbed areas reclaimed. If the well is plugged and abandoned, the site will be reclaimed. The project is located on the Rush property which is located approximately 1,200 feet east of Mill Leonard Road and 250 feet north of the Bath/Campbell town line in the Town of Bath, New York.
