Project Description:

The Department has received an application for a new wastewater discharge permit for the operation of an on-site sand filter septic system at Grace & Truth Sports Park located at 373 North Greece Road in the Town of Greece. The facility proposes to discharge 2,666 gallons per day of treated sanitary and kitchen wastewater from 3 concession buildings and a maintenance building. The system will discharge to Northrup Creek, a class C waterbody. The proposed permit will require monitoring for flow, biological oxygen demand, suspended solids, settleable solids, pH, and temperature.
The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. A draft permit is available for review at the NYSDEC Region 8 office in Avon.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to dredge 87,400 cubic feet of accumulated debris and sediment from an existing pond located on Military Run, a Class c(t) waterway. The sediments to be removed are considered Class B Material in accordance with the Department's Technical & Operational Guidance Series (TOGS): In-Water and Riparian Management of Sediment and Dredged Material. Consistent with the TOGS the dredged material will be placed in a riparian area just downstream from the pond and covered with clean topsoil, seeded and mulched.

Project Description:

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to renew State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) # NY 016 0687, for Freedom Village USA in Yates County. This is a pre-existing Private/Commercial/Institutional SPDES permit. DEC has made a tentative determination to renew this permit and set a standard five year term maintaining current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements. This permit involves the surface discharge of up to 8,146 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste into an unnamed ditch. The nearest surface water is Seneca Lake, a class C stream. Additional information including the current permit, renewal applications, and supporting documentation may be obtained from or inspected at the DEC central office in Albany. Substantive comments on the permit or requests for hearing or both must be submitted in writing to the contact person. DEC seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.
