Stuart Venner has applied to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC or Department) for a permit to construct a dock consisting of a 4' x 71' catwalk with a 3' x 12' ramp and a 6' x 20' float and to install two mooring piles west of the float. The proposed project is to be located at 5A Apacuck Road in Westhampton in the Town of Southampton, Suffolk County, SCTM # 0900-382-02-30.008.
A legislative hearing will be held to receive unsworn statements from the public on the permit application on October 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. A pre-adjudicatory hearing issues conference will be held immediately following the legislative hearing. The adjudicatory hearing is scheduled to take place immediately following the issues conference. All petitions requesting party status to participate at the adjudicatory hearing must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 10, 2007.
Gregory Pecoraro proposes to construct a dwelling, driveway and floating dock on a lot located on Kime Avenue near the intersection with Arbour Street, West Islip. The proposed dwelling and driveway would be located in the adjacent area of Class I regulated freshwater wetland BW-2, known as Deer Lake. The dwelling would be within sixteen feet of the wetland boundary. The floating dock would be located in the freshwater wetland. Clearing and ground disturbance is proposed within the adjacent area and ten feet of this freshwater wetland. In addition, ground disturbance to the freshwater wetland may result from the floating dock.
A legislative hearing will be held to receive unsworn comments on October 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Written comments may also be submitted either by mail or at the hearing itself. Mailed written comments must be received on or before October 16, 2007. A pre-adjudicatory hearing issues conference will be held immediately following the legislative hearing. All filings requesting party or amicus status must be received on or before the close of business on October 17, 2007.
