Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct one (1) 16" diameter well rated at 700 GPM, approximately 430 feet deep, at the Authority owned existing West Neck Road well field, Village of Lloyd Harbor, Town of Huntington. The well will be part of the Huntington high water supply system, which serves the north shore of the Huntington area, north of Pulaski Road spanning from West Neck to Little Neck. The well field is located on the west side of West Neck Road, north of School Lane in the Village of Lloyd Harbor, Town of Huntington.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to subdivide 540 acres into 6 lots. Lot 6 will be approximately 507 acres and will remain a common area. There is no proposed development of the lots at this this time. In addition, the existing 14 ft. wide roadway will be resurfaced with gravel and branches and bushes will be cleared to maintain a 20 ft. wide by 20 ft. high unobstructed corridor for emergency vehicles. The existing water main will be extended to Lots 1, 2 and 5. The property is located at 2299 North Sea Road, also known as Cow Neck Preserve, Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, Tax Map No. 0900-57-1-1.1.

SEQR Lead Agency: NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A cultural resources survey has been completed. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have no impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
