Negative Declaration
Franklin County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Gokey Gravel Pit will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the surface extraction of sand and gravel from a 15 acre total life of mine area. The site, part of a 136 acre parcel owned by Steve Gokey, is currently in agricultural production and upon completion of mining will be returned to agricultural production. There will be no onsite processing of materials. The project is located on the west side Vincent Road, approximately 2,745 feet north of Stacy Road, Town of Burke, New York.
