Project is Located:

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a new warehouse and storage facility on a 7.2 acre parcel of land on Simmons Lane, in the Village of Menands. The facility would consist of a 60,000 square foot building with office space, an eight bay truck loading dock, a 17 space trailer storage area, employee parking spaces, and a stormwater management basin.

The project site is surrounded by commercial and light industrial development and is bounded to the east by Interstate Route I-787. Construction of the facility would require filling approximately 0.13 acre of wetland and 2.55 acres of wetland adjacent area. The wetland that would be impacted is of low quality and much of the site was formally used to dispose of unwanted fill and debris. Full on-site wetland mitigation was deemed not to be practicable. Rather, the applicant has proposed a payment of $5,000 to the Albany Pine Bush Commission to serve in-lieu of onsite compensatory mitigation.
