Shanty Hollow Corporation - Notice of Extension of Comment Period - Applicant has applied (Application #4-1936-00001/00001) to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (Department) for a stream disturbance permit for its operations at the Hunter Mountain Ski Resort, Hunter, New York. Applicant proposes to: make improvements to and continue maintenance and upkeep of the diversion weir in Schoharie Creek and inlet channel to Dolan's Lake; expand the existing water storage reservoir by 5.5 million gallons; construct a second water intake structure on Schoharie Creek at Deming Road; and construct a new water storage reservoir south of Deming Road with a capacity of 20 to 25 million gallons, all of which are being done with the purpose of continuing the withdrawal of water from the Schoharie Creek for snowmaking purposes.

Written comments must now be received on or before September 25, 2007.

Buffalo Crushed Stone, Inc. - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), as State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) Lead Agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on the proposed Modification of Permit to Mine at the Como Park Boulevard Quarry located in the Town of Cheektowaga, Erie County. The proposed action is the mining of approximately 40 acres of land between the east and west basins of an existing hard rock (limestone) quarry. The proposed action would relocate asphalt and rock crushing plants and material stockpiles to the bottom of the east basin more than 100 feet below grade and will extend the life of the mine by about 20 years.

A legislative hearing will be held to receive unsworn statements from the public on October 15, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.. Written comments may be submitted at the hearing or by mail no later than October 10, 2007. A pre-adjudicatory issues conference will be held on October 16, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. All filings for party status must be received by 4:00 p.m. on October 1, 2007.
