Project Location: Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Parkway
Project Description: The Department of Environmental Conservation is reviewing a TRP application to allow the Adirondack Corvettes Inc. to conduct a slow track course event for vintage automobiles in the auxiliary parking lot at Prospect Mountain Veteran's Memorial Highway. The event will occur on September 8th , 2007 and is held in conjunction with the Lake George Adirondack Car Show. The event organizer anticipates 20 - 40 participants. This would be the 10th consecutive year this event has been at this location. Comments will be accepted until August 14th, 2007.

Project Description: On July 26, 2007, the Department rescinded those portions of the 2006 Jessup River Wild Forest Unit Management Plan (UMP)/Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and those portions of the associated SEQRA Findings related to the use of snowmobiles, including but not limited to the construction, modification or relocation of snowmobile trails, bridges and other facilities, and the use of motorized tracked grooming machines (other than snowmobiles) on snowmobile trails. This UMP revision has been undertaken in accordance with the Honorable John C. Egan's Stipulation and Order in the matter of Adirondack Mountain Club, et al. v. APA, DEC and OPRHP dated June 27, 2007. The remainder of the 2006 Jessup River Wild Forest UMP/FEIS is not affected by this revised approval.

Project Description: The project consists of the extension of the Town of Westport Water District 1N to include 23 additional users, including Camp Dudley. Approximately 3,973 feet of eight-inch water main will be installed within the road right-of-way of Dudley Road, a town road. There will also be laterals installed to serve the additional residences and Camp Dudley. The project has been reviewed by NYS Department of Health and is concurrently being reviewed by NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
The project requires use variances from the Town of Westport Zoning Board of Appeals to allow a major public utility use in the Agricultural Lands and Lakeshore Residential 8.5 Town zoning districts. The applicants are in the process of applying for the use variances at this time.
