Shandaken Tunnel Outlet SPDES Permit General Meeting - August 14, 2007

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) hereby gives notice that a meeting will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., on August 14, 2007, at the Shandaken Town Hall on Route 28 in Shandaken, NY.

The meeting is being held in accordance with State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Discharge Permit No. NY-026-8151, for the Shandaken Tunnel Outlet. NYCDEP will discuss the progress of turbidity reduction projects it proposes to undertake as well as management efforts that may be undertaken by volunteers and other concerned groups and individuals. In addition, NYCDEP welcomes input on stream quality from the public.

The meeting is open to the public.

Negative Declaration

Schoharie County - The Village of Esperance Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Esperance Zoning Law will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the proposed adoption of the first zoning law in the Village and will establish five zoning districts - MSM - Main Street Mixed, P - Public, RC - Residential Conservation, RM - Residential Mixed, and RV - Residential Village. The adoption of the Zoning Law will protect the Village from improper development while allowing flexibility for Main Street land uses through the application of performance standards. The project is located in the Village of Esperance, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Supplemental Final EIS

Rensselaer County - The City of Troy, as lead agency, has accepted a Supplemental Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed East Campus Athletic Village at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The action involves the construction of an Athletic Village to be comprised of a 5,200 seat athletic stadium, gymnasium, natatorium, indoor track and field facility, training center, tennis courts, and various athletic support spaces. The project would be phased over several years. A copy of the SFEIS is available on the City of Troy website (http://www.troyny.orp/planning_zoning/athleticvillage.html) and the RPI website (www.rpi.edu/construction/news).
