Negative Declaration

Niagara County - The Town of Cambria Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Niagara County Community College - College Suites Student Housing will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of new residential suites to provide on-site housing for students attending Niagara County Community College. The residential suites will contain approximately 307 beds, with a building footprint of 40,000 square feet. The project will be developed on a 12 acre parcel subdivided from the northeast corner of the original NCCC campus parcel. The project is located at 3111 Saunders Road in Niagara County, Town of Cambria, NY.

Wyoming County - The Town and Village of Arcade Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Kioke Aronson West Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an 1800 square foot addition to an existing manufacturing facility. The project is located at 635 W. Main Street, Arcade, NY 14009.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Erie County - The Town of Hamburg Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hamburg Crossings may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The written comment deadline for the draft scope is September 10, 2007. A public scoping session will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hamburg Town Hall, S6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075. The action involves the development of a 79.93 acre site as a retail/ restaurant/ hotel center called Hamburg Crossings. The proposed development consists of the rezoning of 9.11 acres of land zoned Local Retail Business District, C-1, and 10.85 acres of land zoned Light Industrial District, M-2, to General Commercial District, C-2. Approximately 48.0 acres will remain as C-2 zoning and approximately 12.0 acres will remain zoned as Residential-Agriculture District, R-A, that, in addition to other lands, will total 17.4 acres of land to be dedicated to the Town of Hamburg as a conservation easement along the southern and western boundary of the property. Development of the site will consist of 652,815+/- square feet of retail, restaurant, and hotel uses. The project is located at the southwest side of Camp Road, northwest of I-90, New York State Thruway, near the interchange ramp with I-90, Town of Hamburg, Erie County, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Erie County - The Town of Hamburg Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Lowe's Home Improvement Center. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on September 10, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hamburg Town Hall, S6100 South Park Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until September 10, 2007. The action involves construction of a 139,410+/- square foot Lowe's Home Improvement Center and accessory 31,659+/- square foot outdoor garden display area. In addition, two outparcels are proposed at the front of the site along Southwestern Boulevard that will each accommodate approximately 7,500 square feet of commercial uses such as banks, restaurants, retail, etc. The proposed project requires a rezoning of land from Single Family Residential - Attached (R-2) and Residential Multi-Family (R-3) to General Commercial (C-2). Part of the site is currently zoned C-2 and a Special Use Permit for any building greater than 100,000 square feet in a C-2 zoning district.
