Putnam County - The Town Board of the Town of Southeast, as lead agency, has determined that the Amendments to Chapter 138, "Zoning", will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The amendments would define retail uses equal to or greater than 50,000 gross square feet as "Large Retail Establishments" and would subject such uses to Special Permit criteria designed to make larger scale development more compatible with the natural environment and the existing community character. Amendments to Chapter 138 also include provisions to rezone certain parcels to be consistent with existing land uses or with the vision for commercial development as expressed in the Town's Comprehensive Plan. The amendments also include provisions requiring the Planning Board to review visual information on proposed projects to enhance its existing review capacity and to review changes to approved plans necessitated by field changes in construction. The project is located town-wide in the Town of Southeast, Putnam County.
