The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. The requestor indicated above has submitted a BCP application for the site indicated above.

NYSDEC will accept public comments concerning the application. A copy of the application and other appropriate documents (application package) is available in the site document repository located at the address indicated below.

NYSDEC will review the application package and public comments received and then make a determination on the eligibility of the application.

Negative Declaration

Bronx County (New York) - The New York City Department of City Planning, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed University Heights Rezoning will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a zoning map amendment to rezone portions of Blocks 3225, 3234, and 3236 in the University Heights neighborhood of the Bronx C8-3 with partial C1-4 and C2-4 overlays to R7-1 with C1-4 and C2-4 commercial overlays. The project is located 233 Landing Road, Bronx, New York. The rezoning area is located along West Fordham and Landing roads between the Major Deegan Expressway to the west and Andrews Avenue North to the east in Bronx Community District 7.

Richmond County (New York) - The New York City Department of City Planning, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 40-48 Cedarhill Road will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the applicant, Elizabeth Steigart, proposal for authorizations pursuant to Zoning Resolution (ZR) sections 119-311, 119-318, and 119-314 to modify steep slope, bulk, and lot coverage requirements to facilitate the construction of two detached single-family residences to be located at 40-48 Cedarcliff Road in the Special Hillsides Preservation District of Staten Island Community District 1. Section 119-311 states that the City Planning Commission may authorize developments, enlargements, and site alterations on portions of zoning lots having steep slopes. Section 119-314 allows modification of lot coverage requirements for developments or enlargements within steep slope areas. Section 119-318 permits the modification of bulk regulations governing front, rear, and side yards; space between buildings; and height in developments or enlargements in steep slope areas. The applicant also seeks a certification pursuant to ZR section 119-04 to allow a subdivision within the Special Hillsides Preservation District. The project is located at 40-48 Cedarcliff Road in the Special Hillsides Preservation District of Staten Island Community District 1.
