The Department has made a tentative determination to issue a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit for an existing discharge from the facility known as the Edgewood Electric Energy Generating Facility. The permit will include the discharge of an average of 5800 gallons per day of uncontaminated cooling water (seasonal summer discharge), 4500 gallons per day of stormwater and 30 gallons per day of sanitary flow to Class GA Groundwater. The Department seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to ;making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought or for the overall proposed project. The site is located at Crooked Hill Rd., Edgewood, Town of Islip.
