Pursuant to Section 30-a of the Public Lands law, the Office of General Services hereby gives notice to the following:

Notice is hereby given that the New York State Office of General Services has declared that a portion of 5217 S. Main Street, located in the Village of South Fallsburgh, County of Sullivan, is no longer useful for State program purposes and has been declared abandoned to the Commissioner of General Services for sale or other disposition as unappropriated State land. This abandonment was approved May 10, 2007.

Negative Declaration

Westchester County - The New York City Department of Environmental Protection, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hillview Reservoir west entrance improvements and tree removal/preservation will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the improvements to the Hillview Reservoir west entrance including the installation of a new guardhouse and access road; in addition NYCDEP is proposing to implement a tree removal and preservation plan in order to address New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Guidelines for Design of Dams. The project is located in the City of Yonkers, Westchester County, New York, and is generally bounded by New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) and its service road (Central Park Avenue North) to the northwest; Hillview Avenue and Hall Place to the southwest; Kimball Avenue to the southeast; and Halsted Avenue and Shipman Avenue to the northeast.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Westchester County - The Town of New Castle Zoning Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Upper Westchester Muslim Society Masjid and Islamic Center may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 7:15 p.m. at the New Castle Town Hall Assembly Room, 200 South Greeley Avenue, Chappaqua, New York 10514. The action involves the approval of permits necessary to authorize the demolition of an existing single-family dwelling and accessory buildings and the construction and use of a 24,690 square foot building as a place of worship (two stories plus a mezzanine level), including among other components a prayer hall, a religious school composed of 18 classrooms, a library and recreational facilities, and a 78-space parking lot. Driveway access to the site is proposed from a location along the Pines Bridge Road frontage of the subject site approximately opposite Hoag Cross Road. The subject 8.33-acre site is located on the southerly side of Pines Bridge Road (C.R. Route 1323) approximately 2,100 feet southwest of the Taconic State Parkway southbound access ramp. It is in the R-2A Zoning District as well as the Environmental Protection Overlay District. The project is located 130 Pines Bridge Road, Town of New Castle, Westchester County.
