Project Description: The project is a greater than 25% expansion of a pre-1973 commercial sand and gravel extraction (i.e. sand and gravel pit) with a 9± acre life of mine area on a 53.9± acre parcel of property. The applicant proposes extraction of a maximum of 20,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel on an annual basis expiring on August 21, 2010, in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Conservation permit issued for the sand and gravel extraction. The proposed mining operation will operate from April 1 to December 15, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday's 6:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. The equipment to be used in the mining operation includes a front-end loader, bulldozer, dump trucks and portable crushers and screeners.

Project Description: The action involves construction of an 850±-foot long, 10 to 12-foot wide gravel driveway adjacent to and partially in wetlands. The proposed driveway will result in the loss of 305 square feet of wetland area. The driveway is intended to provide access to the applicants' existing single family dwelling and a neighbor's adjoining property which currently do not have overland vehicular access.
