Project Description:
The applicant proposes to remove and replace, in place, approximately 153 feet of navy style bulkhead with an 18" increase in elevation and a 6' return. Dredge 10' seaward of bulkhead to a maximum depth of 4' below apparent low water and place resultant 25 cubic yards of spoil landward of the bulkhead as backfill. Create boat slip by excavating approx. 1000 cubic yards from a 75' x 45' upland area and place excavated material landward to raise grade. Install 3 mooring piles and single pile lift inside basin and a 4' x 153' boardwalk. The project is located at 117 Awixa Avenue, Bay Shore in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County. SCTM#500-420-3-48.
